Why Choose Alum?

At Tatva Enviro Engineer, we supply premium-quality Ferric Alum and Non-Ferric Alum for water and wastewater treatment. Available in powder and block form, suitable for industries, STPs, and ETPs and Water treatments.

Special features
  • Available in both Block and Powder form
  • Sourced from reliable ISO-certified manufacturers
  • Consistent quality and lab-tested purity
  • Ready stock and on-demand bulk delivery
  • Suitable for industries requiring high-grade coagulation with low sludge generation
Coagulation Mechanism
  • Alum works by neutralizing the charges on particles in water.
  • Once charge is removed → particles stick together → form flocs → flocs settle down → clean water on top.
  • Works best at pH between 6.0 to 7.5
  • Can be combined with poly electrolyte for better settling and less sludge.
High purity, lab-tested quality

How Alum Works?

Alum in Action

Coagulation Process

When ferric alum is added to wastewater, it reacts with impurities and suspended particles.
It neutralizes the negative charges on contaminants, causing them to clump together into larger particles called flocs.
These flocs are easier to remove through sedimentation or filtration.

Removal of Suspended Solids

The flocs formed by ferric alum settle at the bottom of treatment tanks.
This process significantly reduces turbidity, making the water clearer.

Reduction of Phosphates & Organic Matter

Ferric alum binds with phosphates, preventing excessive algae growth in water bodies.
It also helps remove organic pollutants, improving overall water quality.

pH Adjustment

Ferric alum slightly lowers the pH of water, making it more acidic.
Additional chemicals like lime may be used to balance the pH after treatment.

Application in Municipal & Industrial Wastewater

Used in municipal sewage treatment plants to purify drinking water.
Applied in industrial wastewater treatment to remove heavy metals and dyes.
Ferric alum is a cost-effective and efficient solution for treating wastewater, ensuring cleaner and safer water for reuse or discharge.

Chemicals Used Along With Alum

Coagulants & Flocculants
  • Ferric Chloride (FeCl₃): Improves coagulation and helps remove heavy metals.
  • Polyaluminum Chloride (PAC): More effective than alum in some cases, requiring less pH adjustment.
  • Cationic Polymers: Enhance floc formation and improve sedimentation.
  • Anionic Polymers: Used alongside alum to strengthen floc formation.
Oxidizing Agents
  • Chlorine (Cl₂): Disinfects and removes organic contaminants.
  • Hydrogen Peroxide (H₂O₂): Helps break down organic matter and control odors.
  • Ozone (O₃): Enhances oxidation and removes pollutants.
Activated Carbon

Powdered Activated Carbon (PAC): Absorbs organic compounds and improves water clarity.

Additional Enhancers
  • Bentonite Clay: Improves floc formation and sedimentation.
  • Zeolites: Help remove ammonia and heavy metals.
